Roy Bufton

Previous Bands: started Brass Banding with Rushden Town (what goes around comes around…) Stamford & Raunds Temperance. Played in a dance band when I left school and have been married to the principal alto saxophone player, Lynne for 26 yrs now.
Instruments played: Still learning the Trombone but would love to have a go at Piano Accordion some day. Started playing in the Salvation Army (many years ago)
Favourite Music: Crimond – you know that really gorgeous arrangement and would like Mozart requiem, Tuba Miram at my funeral please
Worst: White Christmas – not my choice but ask my banding colleagues and they’ll all agree!!! Personal dislike: Pentangles – test piece the other year – glad we didn’t go in the end
Family: married to Lynne and have one son, Ian 24 – both are musicians playing Clarinet, Saxophone and flute – see what I have to contend with!
Favourite Food: Fish (all of them), preferably with pasta or more fish!!!
Favourite Night out: Good restaurant with friends and lots of red wine and even more laughter.
Ambition: to get to retire and enjoy it
